DAR district meeting

Members of the 14 chapters of District VIII, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet Oct. 1 at Christ Episcopal Church, 7145 Fieldcrest Drive, Lockport, for workshops, luncheon and entertainment.

Co-sponsored by the Niagara Falls chapter and the Abigail Fillmore Chapter of Buffalo, the meeting will open at 10 a.m. with registration. At 11 a.m., Linda Hunter, of the Abigail Fillmore Chapter, will present "The Language of Flowers in Quilts" while chapter regents and vice regents meet for roundtable discussions.

Following the luncheon, a program about 18th century tavern and patriotic songs will be presented by Deputy Niagara County Historian Ron Cary of North Tonawanda, a retired teacher who researched the songs. At closing, District VIII Director Barbara Diebold of North Tonawanda will address the group.
