Event set for Saturday, Sept 17, in the Village of Lewiston

Mount St. Mary's Hospital will conduct its second annual "CardioCraze" on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 8 until 11 a.m. at Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston. Designed around a wellness walk that will incorporate Artpark, the neighborhood streets of the village, and Center Street, the event is a fundraiser for the health center's cardiology department.

The day will open with registration at 8 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9 a.m. Walkers will proceed south from Academy Park through Artpark, South Second Street, Center Street, and return to the park. The route covers approximately 2.8 miles.

Walkers have been soliciting sponsors for their efforts, but there is no charge to participate in the walk. Anyone with $25 or more in donations will receive a free T-shirt.

Morning refreshments will be provided courtesy of Tim Hortons.

"We have designed this as a family event that will place a focus on heart healthy events and information," said Mount St. Mary's President and CEO Judith A. Maness. "There is a full morning of activity planned."

In addition to the refreshments, there will be inflatable slides and a bounce house for children to enjoy. Food and refreshments will follow the walk, courtesy of various businesses and vendors.

Sponsors include: Frontier Industrial Corp.; Phillips Lytle LLP; Sevenson Environmental; HEALTHeLINK; Judith Maness; Pepsi; Tim Hortons; and Modern Corporation. Special thanks to the Village of Lewiston and Artpark for their cooperation.
