Two more members of the Western New York Young Marines are attending leadership school this summer. Young Marines Scott Stewart of Youngstown (left) and Timothy Wilko of Kenmore were to leave July 23 for Battle Creek, Mich., to attend Junior Leadership school at the Fort Custer Training Center. The two met all the qualifications set by Young Marines National Headquarters and are joining other Young Marines from across the country.
Five other Young Marines attended junior and senior leadership school at Fort Pickett in Virginia earlier this summer.
Organizers say the leadership schools are invaluable tools in developing leadership traits that will serve the Young Marines well throughout their lifetimes in whatever career path they choose to follow.
