Firefighters/medics treat victims of I-190 MVA

On Sunday, July 10, the Grand Island Fire Co. rescue personnel responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on the I-190 northbound. The incident occurred near the Baseline Road overpass at 4:34 a.m.

Assistant Fire Chief Chris Soluri states that 24-year-old Amber Parwulski of Buffalo was ejected from a vehicle when it struck a guardrail with tremendous force. She was treated by GIFC medics for traumatic injuries and transported to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight for follow-up medical attention. The other occupant, 40-year-old Robert Toth of Kenmore was also treated for multiple injuries of lesser severities and transported by ambulance to ECMC.

GIFC units returned to service at 5:20 a.m., according to Soluri.
