Porter on the Lake Summerfest, a family event to benefit the park, is scheduled for Sunday, July 3, from 2 until 11 p.m. at Porter on the Lake Park located on Dietz Road (off of Route 18) in Youngstown. The full-day festival will feature food, vendors, beer/wine, as well as three local award-winning bands: 90 West, JJ Swing Band and Rip & the Bandogs. Children's activities will take place from 3 until 6 p.m. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display over Lake Ontario.

Event co-organizers Larry and Linda White and Jeff and Gloria Baker say they're excited about moving the festival from Labor Day (previously known as Labor Day Fest) to the festive weekend in July.

Admission is $5 per adult with children ages 12 and under free. All proceeds will go toward new improvements of Porter on the Lake Park.

Major Sponsors of the event include Modern Corporation, CWM Chemical Services, Sevenson Environmental Services, Mark Cerrone Inc., Certo Brothers Distributing Company, and Conestoga-Rovers & Associates.

For more information on this event, contact event co-chairperson Gloria Baker at 754-2901.
