The Remission Commission team from the Ride For Roswell will host a fundraiser for the ride at Dwyers Irish Pub, 65 Webster St., North Tonawanda, on Saturday, June 18, starting at noon.

Barbecue lovers are encouraged to start Fathers' Day early by coming to Dwyer's and enjoying a pulled pork sandwich or dinner, served by the team members. The event is titled "Put Pork on Your Fork," and includes prize drawings throughout the day.

The team, made up primarily of riders from North Tonawanda, has been participating in the ride for six years, and has raised more than $75,000. They expect to again raise well over $10,000 this year.

"This barbecue party was my wife's idea," said team captain Jerry O'Neill. "When we proposed it to Greg at Dwyer's he embraced it immediately, and has gone way beyond what we expected in helping us to prepare for the event. We can promise some great food and a fun time to all who come out."

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Ride for Roswell through the Remission Commission team. The Ride for Roswell is Saturday, June 25.
