Eighty members of the New York Air National Guard's 107th Airlift Wing's Operations and Maintenance Squadrons left for a 90-day overseas deployment in Afghanistan on Memorial Day, May 30.
It was the 107th's first major deployment of flight operations personnel and aircraft (two C-130 Hercules transports) from the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station since converting from its air-to-air refueling role flying the KC-135, according to Lt. Col. Deanna Miller of the 107th Airlift Wing's Public Affairs Office.
