The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its officers responded to 185 calls from May 13 to 20. Below is a sampling of only those incidents the ECSO reported to the Island Dispatch.
Friday, May 13
•River Oaks Drive, reckless operation - A complainant stated to patrol there was a black-colored vehicle doing burnouts. Patrol was unable to locate the vehicle.
•Whitehaven Road, all-terrain vehicle operation - A complainant stated to patrol there were several ATVs operating on the street. Patrol was unable to locate the ATVs.
•Whitehaven Road, traffic arrest - Following a traffic stop, patrol arrested a juvenile offender after a Department of Motor Vehicles check showed the vehicle's registration was suspended. The juvenile offender was issued traffic tickets for Town of Grand Island Court.
Saturday, May 14
•Whitehaven Road, suspicious vehicle - A complainant stated to patrol a maroon-colored van pulled behind the Fox WUTV station. The complainant was concerned due to recent graffiti. Patrol was able to locate the vehicle, which was unoccupied. Nothing appeared out of order, according to the report.
Sunday, May 15
•Bedell Road, customer trouble - A complainant stated to patrol that a unruly customer was being argumentative. The subject left prior to patrol's arrival.
Monday, May 16
•Whitehaven Road, suspicious vehicle - A complainant stated to patrol that a vehicle in the area aroused suspicion. The vehicle left prior to patrol's arrival.
•Park Place, refer to patrol - A complainant stated to patrol fraudulent charges were made on a credit card. A credit agency was able to catch the fraud before charges could be added to the card.
Tuesday, May 17
•Grand Island Boulevard, suspicious vehicle - A complainant stated to patrol that a suspicious vehicle was in the lot at a fast food restaurant. Patrol located the vehicle and the subject inside was advised.
•Baseline Road, larceny - A complainant stated to patrol that on two separate dates an unknown subject stole money from a church. An investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, May 18
•Ransom Road, criminal mischief - Patrol investigated a graffiti complaint at Grand Island High School. Personnel at the Erie County Sheriff's Office report the arrest of several juvenile offenders for the graffiti located at GIHS. All juvenile offenders will appear in Town of Grand Island Court at a later date.
Thursday, May 19
•Grand Island Boulevard, traffic arrest - Following a traffic stop, patrol arrested a 23-year-old man from Grand Island after a DMV check showed that he was operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and a suspended license. The man was issued traffic tickets to appear in Town of Grand Island Court.
Friday, May 20
•Whitehaven Road, residential burglary - A complainant stated to patrol that sometime during the previous week an unknown person burglarized his residence. Items taken included miscellaneous electronic devices and a laptop. An investigation is ongoing.
•Bedell Road, criminal mischief - A complainant stated to patrol that unknown persons slashed two tires on his vehicle and stole a radar detector. An investigation is ongoing.
•I-190, traffic arrest - Following a traffic stop, patrol arrested a 32-year-old man from Cheektowaga, after a DMV check showed his license was currently suspended. The man was issued traffic tickets for Town of Grand Island Court.
