TN Police promote seatbelt safety

The Town of Niagara Police Department recently conducted a seatbelt safety check (Buckle-Up New York) expanded enforcement period funded by a grant by the governor's traffic safety committee.

During the enforcement period, from March 14 through 31, traffic safety patrols were dedicated to compliance of the seatbelt safety laws. These extra patrols issued 102 uniform traffic tickets, of which 14 were for failure to wear a seatbelt, seven were for cell phone violations, five were for suspended operation, one was a warrant arrest, and 76 were for miscellaneous infractions.
