The Lewiston-Porter Central School District and YMCA Buffalo Niagara are conducting their annual universal pre-kindergarten application process for students who will be 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, and who are not eligible for kindergarten. There is no charge to enroll a child in this program.

Application forms are available at the Lewiston-Porter Administration Building or the Primary Education Center, located on the Creek Road campus, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday until May 5. It is not necessary for children to accompany parents to pick up the application. Application forms will also be included in the April 23 edition of the Lewiston-Porter Sentinel.

Parents are invited to a pre-kindergarten open house on Thursday, April 28, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Primary Education Center. Call 286-7222 to RSVP.

The district notes the following information is needed at the time of pre-kindergarten registration: proof of age, proof of residency and certificate of immunization. Information on free/reduced lunch eligibility and special education services is also helpful. The pre-K lottery drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m. on May 6 in the Primary Education Center.

For further information, contact Barbara Ketch at 286-7222.
