Wild Kritters of Niagara County Inc.hosts its fifth annual basket raffle fundraiser from noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. The event will take place at the 3F Conservation Club, 904 Swann Road, Lewiston.

The family-friendly event includes master falconer Pete Lutz; live wildlife animals and birds of prey in flight; representatives from AWARE and Lakeview Animal Sanctuary; face painting; a clown; and, of course, food.

As state- and federally licensed rehabilitators, Wild Kritters cares for injured and orphaned wildlife. The organization needs to raise funds to continue caring for these in-need animals and to have resources in place to provide veterinary care, medications, formula and even surgery.

In January, Wildlife Kritters operated on two red tail hawks. The cost exceeded $1,300. Three screech owls were also treated. These five animals remained on site for several weeks as they healed and became strong enough to return to the wild.

For more information, or to make a donation, contact Kathy at 316-9657, Lori at 998-8821, or Brenda at 438-2157. Donations are tax-deductible. Donators of service/merchandise/cash will be publicly acknowledged at Wild Kritters events and through promotional announcements and fliers.
