Lewiston Police report a recent donation of blankets to the department will ultimately help to keep victims warm.

According to LPD Chief Chris Salada, the "Lutheran Church Women" from the Messiah Lutheran Church in the Village of Lewiston reached out to the police department with this offering. "These devoted ladies personally made these blankets and they will be made part of the standard equipment carried in the trunk of a Lewiston Police car," he said. "These blankets will be used for keeping victims of any incident warm.

"About a dozen blankets were dropped off for the police department's use," Salada said. "This is again another fine example of how the community and the Lewiston Police Department work together to serve the public. We can't thank these ladies enough."
