Town of Niagara holds annual meeting

The Town of Niagara held its annual reorganization meeting for 2011 on Monday, with few changes reported for 2011.

As provided in the budget, salaries for employees went up 2.5 percent.

Salaries for elected officials include: supervisor, $34,912; four councilman, each $11,687 (Bob Herman, who will continue to serve as deputy supervisor, receives an additional $3,000); town clerk, $42,850; highway superintendent, $49,683; two town justices, each $23,929; tax collector, $7,276.

Town Board meetings remain at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month. The next regular meeting will be Jan. 18.

The Niagara-Wheatfield Tribune was named one of the town's two official newspapers.

The Zoning Board of Appeals continues to meet at 7 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month, but the deadline for paperwork will be on the previous Wednesday.

Three members of various town groups whose terms were expiring were reappointed to terms that will expire in 2015, including Suzanne Fulle of the Zoning Board, Terry Eisenman of the Planning Board and Walter Wrobel of the Board of Assessment Review.
