Youngstown Police Blotter for Jan. 8, 2011

The following activity occurred Friday, Dec. 3, to Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, as reported by the Youngstown Police Department.

Friday, Dec. 3

•900 block of River Road and 500 block of Westwood Avenue, separate vacant house checks. Both locations secure.

•Second and Lockport streets, juvenile problem at the U.S. Post office. Youths reported as loitering around mail trucks. Patrol checked and reported subjects gone on its arrival.

Saturday, Dec. 4

•Hinman and Second streets, one parking ticket issued.

Sunday, Dec. 5

•Northfield Drive, obstruction. Flagpole reported down in the roadway; patrol removed.

•300 block of Main Street, suspicious vehicle. Patrol reported the hatch of a vehicle was found open with no one on location. A 67-year-old male listed as the owner was contacted. Nothing found missing.

•2600 block of Route 93, assist. Patrol responded with the Niagara County Sheriff's Office to a car-guardrail accident. Driver left the scene and returned shortly after.

•Lockport Street, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol reported the pullover of a 33-year-old male for speeding in zone. Driver cited for doing 51 mph in a 35 mph zone, and for operating an unregistered vehicle. Uniform traffic tickets issued, with return date for Porter Town Court. Vehicle towed. Report filed.

Monday, Dec. 6

•4700 block of Lauren Court and 70 block of Sara Court, both in Lewiston, assist calls. Patrol at both locations with Lewiston Police Department for separate burglar alarm activations. All appeared secure at both addresses; patrol cleared.

•200 block of William Street, walk-up complaint of garbage cans in the roadway. Patrol removed same.

•Route 104/Lewiston Hill Road in Lewiston, car-deer accident. Statement taken from the driver; no injuries. MV form filed.

•Water Street in Youngstown, suspicious vehicle. Area checked and all OK.

Wednesday, Dec. 8

•Lockport and Third streets, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol advised the driver.

Friday, Dec. 10

•Church Street, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol reported the pullover of a 40-year-old male. Driver cited for two counts of permitting front passengers in the vehicle without wearing seatbelts, one passenger age 4 to 6 years old, the other under age 4. Uniform traffic tickets issued, with return date for Town of Porter Court. Report filed.

•Church Street, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol reported the pullover of a 20-year-old male for speeding in zone. Driver cited for doing 48 mph in a 35 mph zone. Uniform traffic ticket issued, with return date for Porter Town Court. Report filed.

Saturday, Dec. 11

•Lockport Street, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol reported the pullover of a 45-year-old male for speeding in zone. Driver cited for doing 48 mph in a 35 mph zone. Uniform traffic ticket issued, with return date for Town of Porter Court. Report filed.

•900 block of River Road and 500 block of Westwood Avenue, separate vacant house checks. Both locations secure.

•90 block of Lake Street, mental health response. Patrol reports a male was voluntarily transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Report filed.

•1900 block of Lake Road, alarm response. Patrol reported the residence as secure. Alarm likely triggered by the many animals observed inside.

•Falkner Park, report of juveniles wrestling. Patrol dispersed on arrival.

•Main Street, report of an elderly female attempting to force entry into her vehicle. Patrol reported the keys were locked inside, and assisted.

•East Avenue at Blairville Road, one-vehicle accident. Patrol reported a vehicle rolled over into a ditch. A 67-year-old male listed as the driver refused treatment. The male also found to be under the influence and was cited for Driving While Intoxicated. Blood-alcohol-content testing performed; BAC result, 0.15 of 1 percent. Uniform traffic tickets and appearance ticket for Porter Town Court issued. Driver released to a family member. Patrol's reports to follow.

•YPD office, larceny complaint. Statement taken from a 52-year-old male who reported landscapers from an address on the 500 block of Lockport Street took his son's air gun and knife that were leaning against a fence. Patrol's investigation to continue.

Sunday, Dec. 12

•Falkner Park and business areas, foot patrols. All secure.

Monday, Dec. 13

•Robert Moses Parkway, disabled vehicle at the Youngstown exit. Patrol checked with negative results.

Tuesday, Dec. 14

•Lower River Road/village area, check. Patrol reported a road obstruction and removed same.

•RMP near Lockport Street, vehicle in a ditch. Patrol checked and reported the vehicle as gone on its arrival.

•5400 block of Green Road, unwanted party. Patrol on location with NCSO. Area checked; address found to be non-existent. Complainant unable to be contacted; no report.

•Elm Street, report of snowmobiles going through yards. Patrol advised one subject; other parties were observed parking vehicles.

Wednesday, Dec. 15

•4200 block of Lower River Road, assist. Patrol on location with LPD for a report of dead deer in the roadway. Unable to locate on first call; deer tag issued on second response.

•100 block of South Water Street in Lewiston, report of a fight at a private club. Patrol gave two parties a courtesy ride to an address on the 400 block of North Third Street in the village.

Friday, Dec. 17

•1000 block of Swann Road, assist. Patrol assisted LPD with a 911 hang up at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. Patrol cleared.

Saturday, Dec. 18

•500 block of Westwood Avenue and 950 block of River Road, vacant house check.

•Noise complaint regarding a blue Mustang. Patrol was unable to locate in the village.

•Lockport Street. Walk-up complaint of a vehicle doing "doughnuts" in a church parking lot.

Sunday, Dec. 19

300 block of Carrollwood Drive, fire. A chimney fire took place. No report due, and no property damage.

580 block of Lockport Street, aided case. A man turned himself into patrol. Warrant for arrest for his involvement in a domestic dispute. Exchanged with State Police for arraignment.

•390 block of Church Street, voluntary. Transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Rural Metro.

Tuesday, Dec. 21

•120 block of Jackson Street, assist. Patrol on location with Youngstown Volunteer Fire Co. EMS.

•Balmer Road, check Army Reserve gate. All secure.

Friday, Dec. 24

•Youngstown-Lockport Road past Creek Road, car vs. deer accident. Statement taken from the driver; report filed.

•3900 block of Ransomville, check for dog in roadway. Negative results.

Saturday, Dec. 25

•440 block of Main Street, violation of court order. Unidentified suspect transported to NCSO.

•New Road, reckless driver. Patrol requested to assist NCSO on catching a driver traveling west. Call cancelled en route.

Sunday, Dec. 26

•Oak Street and Westwood, dog in roadway. Cancelled en route; the owner picked up the dog.

•3400 block of East Avenue, residential alarm response. Patrol checked the residence; all secure.

Monday, Dec. 27

•500 block of Westwood Avenue and 950 block of River Road, separate vacant house checks. Both locations secure.

•Wilson Road, car vs. deer incident. Statement taken from the driver; deer out of service.
