Just in time for the holiday giving season, Niagara Hospice has published its first "Pet Visit Volunteer Calendar." Each month features a Niagara Hospice pet volunteer specially trained to provide friendly visits to Niagara Hospice patients and caregivers. The photos featuring the pets were professionally taken on the grounds of the Niagara Hospice Memorial Gardens, and each photo includes a brief bio on the featured pet.

Niagara Hospice Director of Volunteer Services Alice Beck said, "Our pets and their proud owners have brought so much joy to many of our hospice patients and their family members that we wanted to pay them special tribute with this calendar, while also supporting the very special work we do."

Proceeds from the calendar sales will directly benefit Niagara Hospice patients. Cost of the calendars is $10 and can be purchased at Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, and at Palliative Home Care of Niagara, 2186 Liberty Drive, Niagara Falls.

Calendars can also be purchased online at www.NiagaraHospice.org from the Charity Store on the "How to Help" page. For more information, contact Beck at 439-4417.

Niagara Hospice served more than 1,000 families last year and more than 15,000 county residents since 1988. Hospice is socialized care for the terminally ill.
