•The Pekin Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary will host its annual Craft Show and Flea Market on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the firehall, 3024 Upper Mountain Road, one-quarter mile east of Schimschack's Restaurant in Sanborn.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features: coffee and donuts at 9 a.m.; chicken chowder and the lunch counter at 11:30 a.m., and a day long bake sale, featuring goodies by the Ladies Auxiliary. Questions? Call Rodney at 731-4777.

 

•First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown will hold a flu shot clinic on Sunday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 100 Church St., Youngstown. The event is a combination flu and H1N1 vaccination. Visitors are advised to call the office at 745-7067 to make an appointment and to bring their insurance card.

 

•The Social Concerns Committee of Lutheran Church of the Messiah will sponsor a German dinner, Saturday, Oct. 23, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the church, 915 Oneida St. Cost for adults is $9; children ages 6 to 11 are $5.50, and children up to age 5 eat free

•St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, North-Ridge, hosts its annual Harvest Festival, Saturday, Oct. 23, at the school 4169 Church Road in the Town of Cambria. The event opens at 11 a.m. and continues to 3 p.m. Featured will be a Fall Craft Show and Bazaar, sponsored by the school's Parent-Teacher League, a basket fair, chowder sale, pie and bake sale, scholastic book fair, children's fall crafts and more. •Ransomville Baptist Church will hold an Election Day spaghetti dinner and basket raffle, Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, Main and Academy streets in Ransomville. Prices: adults, $8; children, $4. Takeout is available.

•The North Ridge United Methodist Church will hold a turkey dinner on Sunday, Nov. 7, from noon to 3 p.m. at the church, routes 93 and 425 in Cambria. Cost for adults is $8.50, and homemade desserts are included with the meal.
