Legion to party, compete retire worn flags

The
American Legion Post 1451 on Ward Road in Wheatfield will conduct a ceremony to
honor all veterans and to properly retire worn and damaged flags at 11 a.m.
Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11.
Anyone
wishing to have a flag properly retired may bring them to the Legion Post at
any time. Following the
ceremonies, the Legion will offer chowder, hot dogs, hamburgers and
refreshments at their banquet hall.
- The post
will have an evening of fun and entertainment with singing and dancing on
Karaoke Night with Guy Michaels on Saturday, Oct. 23, starting at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the
public.
- A
shuffleboard board tournament will be held on Saturday evenings at the post
beginning at 7:30 p.m. Players are
welcome to bring their own partner or come alone and be matched up with another
skillful player.
- The next
meeting for the general membership will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3. If
you are a veteran, son of a veteran, or are interested in becoming an auxiliary
