A mass enlistment ceremony of civilians into the U.S. Air Force Reserve 914th Airlift Wing will take place Saturday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at Old Fort Niagara during the Old Fort Niagara "Revolutionary War Encampment Re-enactment."

Enlistees will have the unique opportunity to be sworn in on a historic local battlefield that holds a significant place in the history of this nation's freedom. Members of the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station Honor Guard will provide the presentation of the colors in front of those attending this historic event.

An officer from the 914th Airlift Wing will swear-in the group that will include existing unit members wishing to extend their current enlistment.

"I'm extremely proud of these fine men and women who have taken a step forward and are answering the call to serve their nation," said Col. Allen Swartzmiller, 914 AW and installation commander. "They will join the ranks of other citizen airmen who are the finest, highly trained, and motivated fighting force in the world. We also appreciate the continued support from their families, the community, and employers in Western New York."
