On Saturday, Oct. 2, residents of Niagara County will gather at Artpark in support of the Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m., and the walk will begin at 10 a.m.

Memory Walk is a family-friendly event that includes music, entertainment, and food.

Leilani Pelletier, executive director at the Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association reports, "Last year, the Niagara County Memory Walk had a record-breaking walk raising nearly $27,000 and having 225 participants.  This year, we're hoping the walk will grow even more and exceed last year's fundraising and participant numbers."

The Memory Walk fundraising goal for the five walks throughout Western New York is set at $230,000.

Money raised from the walk will support local programs and services for people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, their families and caregivers. In Western New York alone, there are more than 55,000 people currently living with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia.

To register for the Niagara County Memory Walk, visit www.MemoryWalkWNY.com or call 626-0600.
