Wheatfield Republicans hold picnic

The Town of Wheatfield Republican Club will hold its 40th annual family picnic from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, at the Wheatfield Lions Club picnic pavilion on Ward Road next to the Wheatfield Legion.

Hot dogs, hamburgers and steamed corn on the cob will be served during the afternoon. Roast beef, salads and desert will be served at 5 p.m.

Euchre and horseshoe tournaments, along with other adult and children games will be conducted during the afternoon.

The picnic is open to the public. Tickets are $10. Children under 16 accompanied by parents are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased from committee members or at the admission table at the picnic.

Wheatfield Republican-endorsed candidates expected to attend include State Sen. George Maziarz and John Ceretto, candidate for the 138th Assembly District.

The picnic committee includes Bob Cliffe, picnic chairman; Walter Garrow, beverage chairman; Art Kroening, euchre chairman; Gil Doucet, corn chairman; Winston Moeller, horseshoe and laddergolf chairman; Jim Heuer, roast beef chairman; Bill Ross, hot dog chairman; Karen McKernan and Terry McIntyre, games.
