Niagara Pride announces 3rd annual WNY Pride 5K & LGBTQ+ health and wellness fair

Pride season is only a few months away, and Niagara Pride is excited to announce that it is once again kicking off Pride in WNY with the third annual WNY Pride 5K Fun Run/Walk and LGBTQ+ health & wellness fair at SUNY Niagara. The event will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18. Join Niagara Pride in what has now become the annual event marking the beginning of Pride season in the WNY area.

This year, the WNY Pride 5K Fun Run/Walk is being combined with the LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Fair to create a single event that brings the LGBTQ+ community and allies together to have fun, as well as focus on various aspects of LGBTQ+ wellbeing. In addition to several vendors, local drag icon Freddie Hercury will be performing, Energy Radio will be providing music, and the Cheesy Chick food truck will be there.

Niagara Pride is inviting businesses, agencies and organizations that have LGBTQ+ specific programs or LGBTQ+ affirming services to be part of the event. These services can include mental health, addictions/substance use, physical health, financial, housing, transportation, social, family, youth/adult/elder focused, or spiritual. Niagara Pride encourages a wide variety of organizations to be part of the event, as overall holistic health and wellbeing considers a number of aspects. Individuals wishing to participate as a runner/walker in the WNY Pride 5K can preregister at https://forms.office.com/r/1yNyFXH2Pi or sign up the day at the event. Participant fee is $35 for adults and $17.50 for youth under 18/seniors over 55.

Niagara Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving LGBTQ+ individuals and families in Niagara County and WNY. It offers educational programming, engages in charitable works, and offers social programming to create safe and welcoming environment for all those who identify as LGBTQ+ living throughout WNY. It relies primarily on donations to provide these services and have no paid staff – only volunteers.
