Through employee raffles at General Motors Lockport Operations plant, members of United Auto Workers Local 686 have raised $4,930 in support of United Way of Greater Niagara.

UWGN stated, “This generous donation, in addition to employee payroll deductions and corporate contributions, will be used to support local nonprofit programs that support the needs of local youth.”

AFL/CIO Labor Liaison and Campaign Coordinator Bill Jakobi thanked the UAW Local 686, its membership and GM Components, for their continuous support of the United Way campaign drive. He said, “Great example of giving back to the community we live and work in!”

United Way of Greater Niagara helps nonprofit agencies secure the funding they need for programs serving local youth. To learn more, visit www.uwgn.org.
