Stella Niagara’s Center of Renewal will be the site of a mini-retreat from 5-8 p.m. Feb. 27. This event will include a themed dinner, prayers and reflection, with group discussions facilitated by Dr. Nancy P. Askins, executive director of the retreat center.
A press release stated, “Even in today’s topsy-turvy world, why maintain a doom-and-gloom perspective on life? Everyone in Western New York is encouraged to try look on the bright side and call to attend the upbeat evening of prayer mini-retreat.”
Organizers said “OPTIMISTIC-REALISM: Aim for More in 2024” will feature the following:
√ “Learn how to focus on a positive attitude while acknowledging that, sometimes, things just go awry.
√ “Explore scripture passages, hymns and prayers to help inspire an upbeat yet realistic mood.
√ “Identify strategies to deploy to become and sustain a true optimistic-realistic perspective of life, enabling you to still handle the occasional problems of life.”

The Center of Renewal Retreat & Conference Center at Stella Niagara is a 501(c)(3) charitable faith-based not-for-profit, operating as an interfaith retreat center. It is sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, Holy Name Province.
