State landmarks to be illuminated in recognition of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

13 landmarks to be lit dark blue on evening of Jan. 9

Gov. Kathy Hochul today announced 13 state landmarks will be illuminated dark blue on the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 9, in honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day in service to their fellow New Yorkers – we thank them for their service today and every day,” Hochul said. “New York is a safer place because of their dedication. Today, we recognize their sacrifices and show our appreciation for their work.”

Landmarks to be lit include:

  • 1WTC
  • Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
  • Kosciuszko Bridge
  • The H. Carl McCall SUNY Building
  • State Education Building
  • Alfred E. Smith State Office Building
  • Empire State Plaza
  • State Fairgrounds – Main Gate & Expo Center
  • Niagara Falls
  • Lake Placid Olympic Center
  • Fairport Lift Bridge over the Erie Canal
  • Moynihan Train Hall
  • Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park
