Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Michael Hamilton, age 38, of Niagara Falls, entered a guilty plea today in County Court to the charge of manslaughter in the first degree.

Hamilton admitted to killing 22-year-old Jason Chapman outside Wedge Liquors on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls on July 12, 2022. He faces up to 25 years in prison when he returns to be sentenced by Judge John J. Ottaviano on Jan. 25.

The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney Maria Stoelting.
