The Buffalo Bills: Where to go from here

As the Buffalo Bills enter week seven of the regular season, fans are not particularly impressed with the path the team has been on this season.

So far this season, the Bills have been losing more star players due to injuries than anyone would like to see. After losing linebacker Matt Milano and cornerback Tre’Davious White to potential season-ending injuries, the Bills have struggled to keep consistency with missing key players.

There are several more players dealing with hopefully shorter-term injuries that potentially can be played through, such as tight end Dawson Knox with a wrist injury, tight end Dalton Kincaid with a concussion, and cornerback Dane Jackson with a foot injury.

Another major injury happened just this past weekend against the Giants at home, when Damion Harris was taken off the field in an ambulance with a neck injury. Emotions ran high with similarities to Damar Hamlin and his injury that resulted in ending the game at Cincinnati last season.

With the Bills suffering so many injuries to key players on the roster, we have not seen the same team that we are used to seeing. However, it’s not just our defensive line that’s struggling. This leaves concern from fans for where the team will lead Buffalo in the coming weeks moving forward.

“I think our season’s headed in the right direction, but petty mistakes might cost us a shot at the Lombardi trophy,” Bills fan Vishal Atputharaja said.

Buffalo fans are always hopeful that the team will push us past the playoffs and hopefully win our first ever Super Bowl; however, it always seems to come down to small mistakes that cost us.

“We’re not playing like we’re expected to; we’re very inconsistent offensively, and we need a true wide receiver or two next to Diggs,” Bills fan Nate Crombie said.

Our offensive line has been all over the place this season.

“Even though we have a lot of injuries on defense, I think McDermott is doing a great job coordinating and preparing the guys on defense,” Crombie said. “The defense is keeping us in games, where our offense needs to find their identity.”

Overall, something has to click among the Bills team to keep us on the right direction. We might have taken a win against the Giants just barely, but several mistakes almost cost us that game. If our offense can find their voice, and our defense can continue to shine despite injuries, we might have a chance at a great season outcome.

Fans are staying in high spirits that the Bills will pull through like they have in previous seasons.
