Garrett Cassidy recently completed his Eagle Scout project and shared it with the community. He built a bottle and can return station, which was placed at Four Mile Creek State Park on Sept. 30.

This project will help keep the site – and nature – cleaner, because returnable bottles and cans are not going into dumpsters. Garrett’s creation is keeping bottles and cans out of landfills.

This environmental project also benefits the Scouts. Each Scout will earn community service hours for work at the return station, and the money earned will benefit Troop 855’s Scout account.

After one week, the return station was full, making the project a success.

Garrett dedicated his work to his late grandfather, Walter J. Fuller, who was his inspiration. Fuller formerly owned and operated the Natural Link in Lewiston.
