The First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown will host the first of this year's concert series events this weekend. The Lock City Sound, a men’s multigenerational choral ensemble based in Lockport, will perform at the church at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7. Admission is free, but a free will offering will be taken.

A press release stated, “The Lock City Sound has been singing together since 1965. Men of all ages, experience levels and walks of life come together to bring a song to the community. They prepare songs from a wide array of eras, genres and styles, and perform them throughout the year at churches, festivals, farmers markets, civic events and more. They are always happy to bring new members into the group for rehearsal and camaraderie. Go to www.LockCitySound.com for more information.”

The group is directed by Drew Burke, a Lewiston native and Lewiston-Porter graduate, who is also choral director at Barker Middle School and High School. He also is very involved in the county music teachers organization, Niagara County Music Educators Association, having chaired and guest directed many all-county choruses over the years.
