The Buffalo Bills played the Washington Commanders this past Sunday, Sept. 24, for week three of the regular season where one linebacker made his mark.

Terrel Bernard, No. 43 on the Bills defensive line, tied the record as the first NFL player since 2007 to have two sacks, an interception and a fumble all in one game, and the first in the Buffalo Bills franchise history to do so.

The last player to have these stats was Brian Urlacher in 2007 from the Chicago Bears, who is now a Hall of Fame player.

Bernard was a third-round pick from Baylor who was drafted into the 2022 season. This marking his second year in the NFL and, according to Bernard’s career stats, the Commanders game also marks the only two sacks in his career thus far. After not playing a single game in the 2023 preseason, this is an outstanding way for Bernard to start off the regular season.

Bernard’s plays set the tone for the remainder of the game that led to a 37-3 win for the Buffalo Bills.
