On Sept. 17, 2023, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Niagara Falls Police Department responded to the area of 22nd Street and Pierce Avenue to investigate a hit and run crash involving several pedestrians.
Approximately six people involved in a dispute were gathered on the sidewalk on 22nd Street near Pierce Avenue. One of the parties allegedly entered a white 2011 Chevy Tahoe, pulled into the alley to turn around, and intentionally drove up on the sidewalk and into the group of pedestrians.
A 16-year-old male and a 52-year-old female each suffered serious leg injuries and were transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment. Their injuries were non-life threatening and they are both in stable condition. Two others reported minor injuries, but were not treated medically at the time of the incident.
The driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old woman, has been identified. She and the vehicle have not yet been located.
