History Center to offer 'Cemetery Tales' at Glenwood Cemetery

Niagara History Center’s “Step Back in Time Players” will portray some of the historic persons who are buried in Lockport’s Glenwood Cemetery on Sunday, Aug. 20.

Guests will meet and hear from Washington Hunt, politician and New York governor; Isabella Sutherland, famous for her long locks; Raphael Beck, prolific artist many of whose works are in the collections of the Niagara County Historical Society; William Rand Kenan, prominent businessman and farmer; and Arabella Peterson, an animal rights activist.

“Cemetery Tales” is a walking tour – guests should wear appropriate shoes and bring water. The tour will leave from the parking lot. Donation is $10 per guest, and reservations (not mandatory) can be made by calling 716-434-7433.
