The Niagara History Center will again be conducting four programs for children this summer. The series is designed for children ages 7 to 11 and includes crafts, games, stories and other hands-on activities. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on four Wednesdays in July and August. The following are dates and themes for the programs:

√ July 12 – Revolutionary War Day – Step back to the time of the American Revolution and learn the causes for the war; make objects that would have been used at that time.

√ July 19 – I Spy Adventure Walk – Learn how to look for unique things connected to history, architecture and nature, tour a 200-year-old home and do other related activities.

√ July 26 – Buffalo’s 1901 Pan American Exposition – Get your ticket to visit and participate in the first world’s fair where electricity was used. Play midway games and make a souvenir.

√ Aug. 2 – Simple Machines and How They Work – Did you ever wonder how a catapult or a block and tackle are built and used? Come to this program to make them and other devices.

The fee is $25 per child, per program, with $5-off coupons being offered by the Town of Lockport Recreation Department for Lockport residents. For more program information or registration, contact Ann Marie Linnabery at the History Center at 716-434-7433 or [email protected]. The History Center is located at 215 Niagara St., Lockport.
