Featuring local Buffalo artists, Farrow and Curtis Lovell

Press Release

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens announced a brand-new summer event called “Jam in the Gardens,” a concert that includes free beer, food trucks, raffles, access to the conservatory, and live original music from local band Farrow and artist Curtis Lovell. The event is set for 5-9 p.m. Thursday, July 20.

The concert will be taking place in the Botanical Gardens' newly renovated courtyard. Concertgoers will have access to the entire conservatory throughout the evening.

Opening the show will be local artist Curtis Lovell, born and raised in Buffalo. Lovell has performed all over Buffalo, drawing crowds to listen to her electrifying voice and poetic lyrics.

Headlining the show will be Farrow, Buffalo's very own rock ‘n’ soul band with high-energy, original songs, thought-provoking lyrics, and infectious melodies. Featuring songs from their newly released albums, “Agitate” and “Educate,” discover why their motto is “Joy is Revolutionary.” Led by producer/bass player André Pilette and singer/lyricist Michael Farrow, the band features Tim Webb on drums, Michael Ruopoli on percussion, Cory Clancy on guitar, Rufus “Breezy” Cole Jr. on keys, and Danielle Johnson on vocals. Recent performance highlights include Borderland Music + Arts Festival, North By Northeast Music Festival (Toronto), Bowery Electric (NYC), Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), Jamey’s House of Music (Philadelphia), Shea’s Performing Arts Center, Town Ballroom, Buffalo Iron Works, Sportsmen’s Tavern, Erie County Fair, and several outdoor summer concert series around Western New York.

Concertgoers will have the opportunity to explore the Botanical Gardens’ conservatory while enjoying free beer from Buffalocal, featuring local breweries Big Ditch, Flying Bison and Community Beer Works. Also on-site will be fan-favorite food trucks including the Cheesy Chick.

There will be a variety of raffles going on to support the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. This includes a traditional raffle, 50/50 raffle, and ticket sales for the annual travel raffle – with a grand prize of a $3,000 travel voucher to go on a vacation of your choice.

Tickets to the event are $50 per person. Attendees must be 21 years old or older to attend. Tickets include unlimited beer, food trucks and wine for purchase, raffle baskets and incredible original music all night long. Organizers suggest purchasing tickets as early as possible as it is expected to sell out. Tickets are available at buffalogardens.com.
