Lewiston police respond to Military Road crash

On June 23, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Lewiston Police responded to Military Road near Annover Drive for a vehicle that struck a house.

Upon arrival, patrols, along with Upper Mountain Fire Co., found the male driver (and lone occupant of the vehicle) unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. Rescuers administered CPR, and an AED was used to shock the patient twice. A pulse was reestablished and the patient was transported to Mount St. Mary's Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation revealed the driver experienced a medical event prior to the crash that caused him to drive off the road through several yards before striking the house.

Damage to the house was minimal, and was evaluated by the Town of Lewiston building inspector.

The Lewiston police accident investigation unit, along with the assistance of the Niagara County AIU team, is investigating this crash.
