Niagara County Legislator Jeffrey Elder today announced the schedule of events for celebrating Juneteenth in the City of Niagara Falls on Monday, June 19. Elder is co-chairing the Juneteenth organizing committee.
“Juneteenth is an opportunity to get our community together to celebrate and commemorate this historic event,” Elder said. “As co-chairman, I wanted to create a festival that promotes unity through a series of fun activities.”
Elder said the events, which will occur at City Hall and Legend’s Park, include:
√ Basketball tournament 10 am, Legend’s Park
√ Flag-raising 11 am, City Hall
√ Parade on Main Street, noon, from City Hall to Legend’s Park
√ Festival, including live performances, free food, vendors, 1-8 p.m. at Legends Park
"I want to thank everyone who has worked hard to put what I believe will be a tremendous celebration together, and I urge one and all come out and enjoy the 2023 Niagara Juneteenth Festival,” Elder said.
