The Wheatfield Seniors group is planning the following trips for 2023:

•July 19, Finger Lakes excursion, 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cost: $94. Visit the Lively Goat Run Farm, one of the longest-operating commercial goat dairies in the country, purchase summer vegetables from a farm market, and spend the afternoon at the Women’s Rights National Historical Park – where the story of the first Women’s Rights Convention held in Seneca Falls tells the story of struggles for civil rights, human rights, equality and all global struggles. Lunch choice of pulled pork, Rueben or Caesar salad, with chicken.

•Aug. 23, mailboat cruise, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Cost: $128. Take part in the tradition of daily mail delivery on Skaneateles Lake followed by lunch at Sherwood Inn and, lastly, a visit to the Strawberry Fields Hydroponic Farm. Choice of chicken Francoise or pecan salmon.

•Sept. 20, Historic Lyons and Palmyra, 7:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Cost: $72. Visit the Peppermint Museum, home of the once international prized medal peppermint oil company. Shop for peppermint items. Next is the Old Jail, a museum containing original inmate artwork on the walls. Learn the stories of some of the inmates serving time from 1856 to 1960. After lunch, tour the Alling Coverlet Museum in the 1901 newspaper printing office and Phelps General Store, which served the needs of Palmyrans & Erie “Canawlers” as a boarding house, tavern, bakery and general store from 1826-1940 when the doors were locked and left untouched, leaving a curious retail time capsule.
