Jason Myers is running for reelection for a seat on the Lewiston Town Council.

Myers, a resident of Sanborn, was first elected to the Town Council in 2019. He has a background in marketing, finance, and nonprofit management. As a councilman, he has served as liaison to the Sanborn Business Association, Cable Commission, lighting advisory board, and signage committee. He also currently serves on the Niagara County Youth Bureau and as a member of the Niagara Wheatfield School Board, where he was recently reelected.

During Myers’ first term in office, the Lewiston board has completed notable projects including upgrading the water line on Lower River Road, overseeing new development, and investing in new highway equipment. The town has also put much effort into enhancing its parks and creating new ones, including the Stonehaven preserve, which was recently opened up to the public.

“When I was first elected, my goal was to bring fresh eyes to the Lewiston Town Council and to look out for the interests of our people,” Myers said. “I wanted to see taxes well managed and used efficiently and resourcefully, that our infrastructure be well maintained, and that services are provided with excellence. I am proud that we have been successful in these ways. Our taxes have remained flat, our financial position is strong, and our town has improved its infrastructure. We really have a great team in Lewiston!”

Myers is an honors graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and was class salutatorian. He earned a full-tuition academic scholarship to Niagara University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree, dual majoring in business management and economics and finance. Myers graduated at the top of his program and was awarded as the “Outstanding Business Student of the Year.” He also holds a master’s degree in biblical studies from Liberty University.

For Myers, his Christian faith is an important aspect of his service. He is an active member of Forestview Church of God, where he has served as a worship leader, youth leader and Sunday school teacher. For nearly a decade, Myers has done work with the Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission, a faith-based nonprofit in Niagara Falls.

Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission is a key organization in helping many of Niagara County’s most needy with its services, including emergency shelter for men, community meals, transitional housing, support groups and skills training. Myers was with the agency since shortly after its inception, serving as a board member, board president, and then as operations director. During his time as board president, NGRM acquired the former Niagara Falls YMCA building on Portage Road and considerably expanded its services.

“Serving our community is important to me,” Myers said. “Our town has been the beneficiary of good, common-sense leadership coming from Supervisor Broderick and the board, and I want to see Lewiston continue to go in the right direction.”

Myers has been endorsed by the Republican and Conservative parties.
