On Tuesday, members of the FBI Buffalo agents and support staff partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Niagara Falls, and were assisted by members of the Niagara Falls Police Department narcotics intelligence division, to conduct an FBI junior special agent program at Harry F. Abate Elementary School.

Assistant Special Agent in Charge Darren Cox gave a welcome statement to the students and the volunteers. During the event, the qualities and characteristics of what it takes to become an FBI agent were discussed. In addition, safety measures were taught to the students on what to do if they were to discover an unsecured firearm. The students were then put through a series of physical fitness requirements that would be needed to become an FBI agent, as well as being allowed to inspect and try on FBI equipment.

At a future session, students will be shown various investigative techniques, including forensic evidence recovery and development.
