Submitted on behalf of Roger Spurback

Roger Spurback of Colonial Drive in Niagara Falls has announced his candidacy for the Town of Niagara Town Board. A former Niagara Falls Block Club chairman, Spurback is seeking the endorsement of the Democratic, Republican, Working Families and Conservative party lines.

A registered Democrat, Spurback feels he can work across all party lines in seeking a consensus driven compromising agenda.

“I wish to continue to advance the achievements of Supervisor Lee Wallace and the current board of seven successful years,” he said. “I desire to continue on their journey of transition to a future that we can all be proud of. With two excellent board members leaving to seek another path, I acknowledge that the time has arrived to get involved to ensure the continued growth and prosperity in the town’s future.”

As the town prepares for the future of Amazon and the addition of hundreds or perhaps thousands of jobs, Spurback said elected officials must ensure its residents that this direction is positive and sustainable.

“Important milestones and criteria must be met benefitting our residents and business community,” he said. “The town has experienced numerous new businesses, bringing additional jobs and opportunity. Decisions must enable the town to dramatically increase our tax base, benefitting not only seniors, homeowners and youth, but Niagara County, as well. The horizon ahead looks promising, and I desire to be a part of it, utilizing the leadership and negotiating skills learned during my past 69 years.”

Spurback is married to Rebecca, his wife of 44 years. They have two children: a son, Nick, a Niagara Falls firefighter who is married with three children; and a daughter, Jennifer, who is married with two children.

“I look forward to hearing your concerns, complaints regarding the past or the town’s future,” he said.

For more information, Spurback can be reached at 716-285-5426, 716-622-6432, or via email at [email protected].
