Danielle Roberts named YMCA vice president of community impact

YMCA Buffalo Niagara announced the promotion of Danielle Roberts to the position of vice president of community impact. A member of the YMCA management team for over 10 years, Roberts will transition from her current role as executive director of the YMCA’s William-Emslie, Delaware and Ken-Ton branches.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to make an even greater impact in our community through this new role,” Roberts said. “I consider it a privilege to serve and utilize my passion to make a difference. I love what YMCA Buffalo Niagara represents. It can be hard work, but for me, it’s heart work!”

As vice president of community impact, Roberts will manage YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s association-wide fundraising and outreach efforts, special events including the YMCA “Turkey Trot,” and programs such as “Y of the Fly” and “Safety Around Water.” In addition, she will oversee YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s $30 million capital campaign to construct a new, 65,000-square-foot YMCA facility to serve North Buffalo and its surrounding communities.

A lifelong Buffalo resident, Roberts is a graduate of the University at Buffalo, with a bachelor of arts, social sciences interdisciplinary health and human services and early childhood education. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Buffalo Jill’s Alumni Association, N.A.A.C.P., National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), as well as a member of Elim Christian fellowship church. She also serves on the board for Uncrowned Community Builders.
