City of Buffalo reopens

Late Wednesday night, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz tweeted:

“All driving bans in Erie County are lifted as of 12:01am. A county-wide driving/travel advisory is in effect, and the county-wide State of Emergency remains.”

He also tweeted:

•“As was announced earlier, the city's Driving Ban will be lifted at 12:01 AM and replaced by a Travel Advisory. Hundreds of very large pieces of equipment will still be out clearing streets from curb-to-curb. Please exercise caution while walking or driving.”

•“The driving ban in the City of Buffalo will be LIFTED effective Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 12:01AM. The ban will be replaced with a Travel Advisory.”

•“National Grid is reporting only 62 customers in Erie County without power, and those are expected to be restored this evening. 500 National Guard members have conducted nearly 850 welfare checks on residents who had longterm power outages. Thank you for all your assistance.”

•“Vehicles that were towed by Erie County, NY can be found here: erie.gov/towedvehicles If your vehicle is not on the list, it was not towed by Erie County.”
