St. Peter R.C. Church to host first parish mission retreat

St. Peter R.C. Church on Center Street in Lewiston invites all parish members – as well as members of the Lewiston and surrounding communities – to participate in its first mission retreat. The event will take place beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, and continue nightly through Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Organizers said, “The liturgical year always begins with the series of preparation. Advent gives us the opportunity for ongoing preparation as we approach Christmas.

“The retreat will be led by Rev. Eugene O'Reilly, C.S.s.R., affectionately known as ‘Red.’ Father O'Reilly is a Redemptionist priest from Toronto. Mission preaching is his full-time ministry, and he brings to it a ready smile and a compassionate understanding of people and the complex world in which we live.”

Program topics are as follows:

√ Sunday: Dec. 4: “Intimacy With God/Self”

√ Monday: Dec. 5: “Living the Reign of God and the Values of Jesus Today”

√ Tuesday: Dec. 6: “Reconciliation”

√ Wednesday; Dec. 7: “The Discipleship, with Mass”
