News was rather light at the Lewiston Town Board’s regular meeting Monday evening at Town Hall. Items of note included:

•On Friday, Oct. 28, the Town of Lewiston will have its first ever trunk-or-treat drive-thru event from 6-8 p.m. in the Town Hall parking lot, 1375 Ridge Road. Little ones in vehicles (appropriately decorated for Halloween) will receive candy.

“If you’re interested in coming, you’re more than welcome. We providing the candy for each car, so they don’t have to worry about bringing any candy; we’re providing everything,” said Cathy Cvijetinovic, director of the Lewiston Recreation Department.

For more information or to register a vehicle, visit the Lewiston Youth Sports page on Facebook or at lewportsports.com.

On a related note, the Town Board announced Halloween hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in town neighborhoods.

•The town will hold a presentation on Lewiston’s $19.005 million preliminary budget plan at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Town Hall. The session is open to the public.

The board is expected to adopt the budget en route to submitting it to the state comptroller’s office by mid-November.

•Councilman John Jacoby, who serves as liaison for the Lewiston Council on the Arts, spoke on the ever-popular fall event, LCA’s “Mable Orchard Ghost Walks,” which conclude this weekend.

“Friday night we had 215 people (attending) – the vast majority paid. It’s a big fundraiser for them,” Jacoby said, noting he came away impressed. “They used to have eight or nine people who would come to watch it; it’s grown over the years. This might be the last year for it; it was its best one.”

The Marble Orchard players’ final performance is Saturday evening in the village. For more information, visit www.artcouncil.org.
