Fantastic Friends of WNY holds 4th special needs fashion show

Goal to raise acceptance of special needs individuals

Fantastic Friends of WNY will hold its fourth annual “Fantastic Friends Rock the Runway” fashion show, which includes a live and silent auction. The event will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Forbes Theater at 500 Pearl, Buffalo.

A press release said, “This is a unique, exciting and interactive event with the goal of educating the community while entertaining through fun and fashion. The evening provides an inspiring demonstration of special needs individual’s ‘abilities’ as they model fashions from adaptive clothing designer Cortney Reynolds. It also raises funds for Fantastic Friends of WNY, an area nonprofit.

This year’s event is titled “West Herr Cares Presents Rock the Runway.”

Fantastic Friends of WNY is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit for special needs individuals of all ages.

The organization has grown from servicing 12 special needs individuals to hundreds in just a few short years. It is all-inclusive to the special needs’ community. A few of the disabilities include autism, Down’s syndrome, traumatic brain injury, fetal alcohol syndrome, drug addiction and chronic illness.

Special needs individuals receive 1:1 assistance from a trained, volunteer “buddy” at events.
