Village of Lewiston Clerk Shannon Fundis and Treasurer Stephanie Longwell announced residents can now pay bills online via the municipal website, https://villageoflewiston.net. Items that can be viewed and paid include water and utilities, taxes, building permits, licenses, recreation department events and even parking tickets.

All major credit cards are accepted.

The website states, “This is a fee-based service. A $2.95 service fee will apply to all e-check transactions. Credit card there will be a 3.25% service fee applied with a minimum fee of $2.95. There is also an additional IVR (pay-by-phone) Surcharge of $1.00.”

Longwell said residents can sign up for electronic bills. “So the day I posted these, I got an email with my bill – just like any other company – and then it reminds you, too. That's very helpful.”

Fundis said, “It’s pretty user-friendly.”

She added, “People have the ability to go paperless, if they want to set up automatic payments.”

“Text message reminders,” Longwell noted.

Fundis said the online system also benefits snowbirds who might want to put money on their water bill account in advance.
