The Friends of Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse present “Christmas at the Lighthouse.” The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Golden Hill State Park, 9691 Lower Lake Road, Barker. This annual happening will include tours of the lighthouse from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., wine tasting from local wineries, food and craft vendors, a decorated historic Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse, basket raffles, a visit from Santa Claus and a special appearance by Blinky the Lighthouse.

Food, including pulled pork dinners, may be ordered in advance or purchased on-site, along with hot dogs and chili.

The Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse was constructed in 1875 of limestone blocks quarried near the eastern end of Lake Ontario. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The property also includes a recently restored historic carriage barn, coal shed, outhouse, and a fog signal house and tower.
