Niagara River Greenway Commission to meet

The Niagara River Greenway Commission will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Grand Island Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road. The meeting is open to the public.

The commission will consider the following projects (full proposals are available at https://www.niagararivergreenway.com):

√ Meadow Sweet Nature Preserve, WNYLC: The Western New York Land Conservancy will purchase and permanently protect 25 ecologically important acres on Grand Island.

√ Lockport Railyard Skate Park, City of Lockport: Development of a skateboarding park for families and children of Lockport.

The Niagara River Greenway Commission is a public benefit corporation established by Chapter 460 of the state laws of 2004. It is charged with the implementation of the Niagara River Greenway Plan through review of proposed projects, stewardship programs, community events and collaboration with municipalities to create a world-class trail and green space along the Niagara River from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario at the site of the historic Fort Niagara.
