Western New York Independent Living is holding a community outreach pop-up event in the parking lot next to its administrative offices at 3080 Main St. (north of the ALDI’s Store), in Buffalo’s University Heights neighborhood. The event is set for 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1.

Organizers said, “The purpose of the event is to offer people an opportunity to learn more about what the agency can do for them in a casual and relaxed environment. Free hot dogs, snacks and beverages will be offered, and music will be provided by a live DJ.”

In addition to sharing information and promotional materials about its various programs and services, the agency will also be promoting its medical equipment loan closet, from which eligible persons can borrow items such as walkers, canes, crutches and portable toilet chairs.
