Event on July 29-31 expected to draw more than 400 cars

The Western New York Shelby and Mustang Club will host the Nickel City Mustang Roundup July 29-31 at the Buffalo Marriott Niagara Hotel at 1340 Millersport Highway in Amherst. More than 400 cars are expected in the show, with some coming from as far away as California. Organizers said spectator turnout of 2,500 is expected during the course of the event.

"We are excited to have some of the best Ford Mustangs in the country attending our show – with cars dating from 1964 1/2 to 2022. We are humbled by the number of Mustang owners who have reached out to us, and are so grateful for the enthusiasm we are seeing from the various communities,” said Joe Tirone, president of the Western New York Shelby and Mustang Club.

Organizers said, “Much of Western New York has embraced this event, with the Erie County Sheriff’s Department, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department and the City of Lockport Police assisting with the escort of over 325 cars to the Lockport Locks for an invitation-only dinner. The City of Lockport has even agreed to block off Market Street to ensure safe parking by all of the event participants.”

The general public is welcome to attend the event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with food trucks on hand both days. The event will culminate in an awards breakfast Sunday. Show proceeds will benefit WNY Heroes, an organization providing veterans, members of the armed services, and the widows and children of deceased veterans with access to essential services, financial assistance and resources that support their lives and sustain their dignity.

The Western New York Shelby and Mustang Club is a regional chapter of the Mustang Club of America.
