On Sunday morning, the Office of City of Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino announced a 20-inch water main break at James Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard. The Niagara Falls Water Board reported lower water pressure in the DeVeaux area due to the size of the break. Crews were on site for repair. A picture of the split in water main is shown above.

An afternoon update indicated crews were continuing to work on the water main break and would remain on site until work finished. Workers were expected to return Monday to replace a broken water main valve next to the water main break.

Traffic flowing south on Hyde Park was impacted, as was current Department of Transportation road work in the area.

The Niagara Falls Water Board will need to continue remedial road repair on the northbound lane. On Tuesday, the southbound lane will be reduced to a single lane for the water main valve replacement.
